There are lots of opportunities to get involved in marine conservation, from changing the way you buy your fish to helping on volunteer holidays and taking part in the Big Beachwatch Weekend every September.

The Marine Conservation Society  pioneers practical, locally-based education and monitoring programmes on cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises) in the Hebrides.  Report any sightings you have in the area online to them 

Endangered Species International runs projects for coral reefs
 
Whale & Dolphin Conservation has volunteer opportunities at its Scottish centre in the Moray Firth and also in Chippenham in their head office and if you are appropriately qualified, in the US.  Click here for details.  They also have lots of info about whales and dolphins on their website.
 
Project Aware is dedicated to conserving underwater environments through education, advocacy and action.  Lots for scuba divers & water enthusiasts to get involved with.
