Charity Christmas Cards to help horses and donkeys

There are a number of lovely charity Christmas cards about this year - and if you're a horse or donkey lover looking to support a horse charity or a donkey charity through buying Christmas cards, here are a few you could lend a hoof to!

It's also worth taking a look at their gift and shop sections as many have wonderful virtual gifts giving working animals the help they need, whether it's veterinary treatment or water troughs, and educating young people about horse and donkey welfare.  And many charities run adoption schemes so that you can adopt a donkey or adopt a horse (or sponsor them, depending on the term used by the charity) and give adoption gifts.

Compassion in World Farming Christmas Cards OK, so these obviously aren't horses and donkeys, but you could make life better for farm animals by supporting Compassion in World Farming when you buy your Christmas cards.  There are 10 in a pack, with these two designs featuring two animals CIWF are championing in their End the Cage Age campaign.
The Donkey Sanctuary has Christmas all wrapped up with Christmas cards such as "Feeding Time" pictured right.  There's also calendars and wrapping paper.   All available from their online shop Click here to trot off to the Donkey Sanctuary

Among the charity Christmas cards available, you could canter off to the Horse Trust's website - including these lovely cards called Police Horses in Retirement.  One of the things the Horse Trust does is to pledge to look after police horses in retirement as they are often on the front lines in times of conflict.  Click here to see the Horse Trust's Christmas cards

How about supportning the gentle giants and miniatures of Lincolnshire with your gift?

The Northcote Heavy Horse Centre has been caring for horses of all sizes from miniature ponies and Shetlands to Shires and Clydesdales for over 25 years.  It is both a visitors centre and an equestrian sanctuary providing a forever home to horses & animals in need.  You can find out more about some of their horses here

Redwings Horse Sanctuary also sell Christmas cards. They care for over 1,300 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules every day.  Their shop has lots of Christmas decorations to choose from, as well as cards.

The Brooke  has an amazing range of gifts which will be gifts not only for your loved one, should you choose to buy one, but will also be a wonderful present for horses and donkeys.  They include Portable Water Troughs, Restful Shade, Medicines for Clinics, First Aid Kits, Grooming Kits and more.
